Day 3: The Practice
You will often hear meditation and mindfulness referred to as “the practice”. When you practice, essentially you are bringing your attention to the present moment and gaining insight into how you are in relation to what is happening in that moment.
When practicing “presence” or “present moment attention”, no matter how many times you find yourself “out of the present moment”, you can always choose to begin again by reestablishing your attention in the body or with the breath - two objects that are always in the present moment.
Remember that meditation in its simplest essence is a practice of learning to sustain our attention in the present moment, and what makes it a practice is the opportunity to begin again as many times as you need to.
